Rufus Morris Jr. is a native of Syracuse New York.  Morris used to produce rap records under the name "Skratch." He soon blossomed into a neighbor-hood celebrity, entrepreneur owning multiple businesses and popular DJ / Radio personality on Power 102.1FM, a radio station Morris co-owned and operated. As his career progressed, Morris grew increasingly unfulfilled by the extravagant party lifestyle associated with the entertainment industry. Seeing his community increase in crime and violence with an ever increasing high school drop out rate Morris began to feel like the night clubs he owned and the hardcore rap music he sold in his music stores were part of the problem in his community. So he took a leap of faith and closed the doors to these businesses and founded Love Movement Ministries, School of the heARTS (non-profit 501C3 organization) in '2001. Now Mr. Rufus Morris Jr. is on a new mission to influence youth culture with positive content, biblical principals & Kingdom Entertainment. School of the heARTS is a performing arts, multimedia film school that offers classes in recording engineering, music production, theater, TV/ film production, web broadcasting, animation and academic tutoring for school aged youth and adults. Morris quickly realized his strong influence on youth and began to draw large numbers of students into his programs. Seeing the continued budget cuts in public schools across America, Morris realized that performing arts, film, music, and other nonacademic programs were disappearing. Understanding that not all youth are interested in athletics, Morris found it extremely important to keep performing arts, film and music programs available for youth. Coming from an inner city single parent home himself, he found it necessary that these programs not only be made available, but also affordable. With national attention from the US Department of Education and support from the New York State Department of Education Morris offers many of his programs FREE of charge to families in communities who would other-wise not be able to afford these quality programs. However Morris feels it is not enough to develop artistic and academic skills without also providing a real life platform for students to apply their newly developed skill sets and maximize their potential so he formed Kingdom Entertainment Studios, a production company that allows students active involvement in the company’s various productions as well as allow Morris to reach an even larger demographic and spread his positive content through the production of inspirational and educational television programs, films, music CD’s and video games. In addition to his professional production staff Morris has certified academic teachers on staff to ensure academic excellence and create the educational links in his multimedia programming. Morris also has plans to further expand the services of Kingdom Entertainment Studios, Nineveh Treehouse Learning Centers & Love Movement Ministries, School of the heARTS (non-profit 501C3 organization) to include Film, Music & Creative Arts Therapy Studios & an outdoor Land of Nineveh Treehouse Campsite for at-risk youth. These programs facilitated indoors and outdoors on our expanded studio campus will use the Nineveh Fantasy Series movie sets, props, costumes and curriculum to train & equip youth to defeat their personal enemies of dreams (i.e. substance abuse, depression, spiritual blindness). These programs will also offer a creative & nurturing environment that encourage personal growth and responsibility.
